Looking at the latest models moderate snow should break out tonight into the Northern Sections of Washington State and continue into Tuesday morning (4-9 inches at Baker, 2-5 areas south towards Crystal and Stevens) with fairly low snow levels (2500-3500 feet). Snow will eventually move into the Wasatch Wednesday night and continue into Thursday morning (4-7 inches) before impacting most of Colorado Thursday/Friday.
The GFS model shows some weakeing waves moving into the 4 corners by Thursday AM (Crested Butte, Durango, Silverton) however most of the Central and Northern Mountains (Especially along I-70) will also see snow Thursday and Friday (4-7 inches). There is good chance at this point that significant upslope flow could allow snow to pick up later Thursday into Friday along the Front Range Foothills favoring areas such as Loveland, A-Basin and Eldora. After this storm the extended period falls back to high pressure and the long term models don’t bring back any significant snows until February 15th
The East Coast might see some light to moderate snow (Southern resorts favored) by early next week and again on February 9th and 10th (Larger coastal system).
Stay tuned to any Powder Alerts which will posted below with any storm expected to drop greater than 6-10 inches in any 24 hour period.
