With limited resorts open I might elect to stay in the Backcountry in the Wasatch on Saturday afternoon and Sunday morning however strong winds will create significant drifting and AVY danger. The winds are from the Southwest early in the storm making the deepest Utah snow likely in Big Cottonwood Canyon versus Little Cottonwood. In Colorado the chase would inlclude any open resorts along I-70 with a bit of an edge going to Copper mountain due to the Northwest Winds! The best day to ski there will be Sunday and again Monday (2nd impulse) which might even be better. The early winds are from the SW on Saturday night so most of I-70 might not see heavy snow until later in the weekend when everything shifts to the Northwest and I-70 will be dumping. The Northwest will get a good punch of powder for the next several weeks so expect resorts there to open by Thanksgiving.
