After a significant warm up this weekend and many resorts closing for the season an unseasonably cold winter storm will blast the Sierra and the Rockies Monday through Tuesday.  The Sierra will see up to 20 inches of snow beginning late Sunday night and Monday morning with relatively decent densities and moderate winds. 1-2 feet of fresh are expected by Monday afternoon.  The Wasatch of Utah will see snow fall primarily overnight Monday making Tuesday a great day to hit Snowbird, Alta, Solitude or Brighton. Snow will still be falling throughout the day and totals should range in the 11-16 inch range by late Tuesday. Colorado will see moderate snow after midnight on Monday with light snow continuing into Tuesday with higher snow levels tracking near the Wyoming border throughout a large portion of the mountains on Tuesday (6-14 inches). Snow will be higher density in Colorado.

The Chase:

After biking today it is hard to believe another powder day is putting me on the move! My chase this week would include Squaw Valley on Monday where it might become an epic storm ski day of deep on top of crud however by afternoon you most likely wont feel much underneath. The Wasatch is on my top picks for Tuesday especially North facing to reduce the crud factor and hopefully snow levels starting high and lowering throughout the day will make it epic like by the afternoon. I would consider Copper or vail late on Tuesday or perhaps Wednesday morning. Anyone dare to try the powder trifecta in April?

Enjoy the snow and keep biking in between these dumps that look like they might continue long term for April. What is really amazing is low snow levels for this time of year! Please continue to post your powder in the forums section! We need your feedback and to keep us honest!
