WINTER IS BACK! POWDER ALERT

13 resorts remain open currently as an epic April continues to extend the season in many areas. The next winter storm has characteristics of something we might see in mid March and yet somehow it's almost May and we are going to see low snow levels and 14-20 inches at many resorts especially the Northern Sierra and Wasatch!  Even Maine and New Hampshire will see snow with Sugarloaf extending their season and up to a foot of new snow expected by Wednesday morning.  Snow/Rain will begin in the Sierra on Tuesday afternoon and turn heavy by Wednesday morning with all snow expected to the base areas with low snow levels (14-18 inch powder day on top). The Wasatch of Utah will see temps go from as high as 70 in Park City, and 55 at Alta on Tuesday to the mid 20's by Wednesday night and Thursday. Snow will break out early Wednesday morning turning heavy by the afternoon and continuing into Thursday/Friday (Storm totals in the 18-20 inch range by Friday). Colorado will see snow on Thursday/Friday with the best conditions around Loveland and A Basin on Friday morning and perhaps even Saturday as some snow should continue to fall into the weekend. What puts this storm on the map is snow levels that are going to mirror mid March.    The Powder Chase:   Wednesday Morning:  Squaw Valley, Sugarloaf Maine for those East Coasters!   Wednesday PM:  Snowbird beginning to get deep however still on top of crust   Thursday Morning: Snowbird getting deeper and snow level dropping to the Valley   Friday:  Loveland or Abasin in Colorado, Snowbird could see continued low density snow on top of the 12-15 inches from the previous 48 hours-conditions getting better   Saturday: Colorado resorts continuing to see light snow especially near the Front
