Snow returned yesterday as most Utah resorts received from 9-13 inches of 8% snow and unfortunately completely zapped the moisture from reaching any of the Colorado Mountains which should do well on the next system Friday night and Saturday. Colder temperatures will keep things fresh for the next several days. Moderate snow will be possible Saturday across mainly Southern Colorado including Aspen (4-8) and especially Wolf Creek and Silverton who could pick up 8-12 inches by Saturday night. Northern Mountains will not do as well however will receive lighter amounts with a chance of moderate snow there by Saturday afternoon when the winds shift to the NW. Utah will be on the Northern fringe of things tonight however should see storm totals from 4-7 inches by late Saturday. A stronger system that will most likely hoist the "Powder Warning" will move into Utah and Colorado Sunday night through Tuesday bringing higher amounts to the Northern and Central Mountains. Friday Night/Saturday Moderate snow for Colorado's Southern Mountains (5-10 inches) and 3-7 inches further North. The Wasatch of Utah will see 6-9 inches by late Saturday Sunday: Calm before the storm (Snow develops in the Wasatch late at night) Monday: Moderate to heavy snow possible for the Wasatch (9-12). Snow developing in Colorado by mid morning. Monday night: Moderate snow for Colorado favoring the Northern and Central Mountains lingering into Tuesday Tuesday: Lingering snow showers all mountains favored by NW flow |
