It's about time we saw the DEEP return to the Rockies and this will be the first Heavy Pow warning issued in nearly 3 weeks. Today I endured some super light deep at Stevens Pass Ski Area in Washington (18 inches of .05% density fluff). Snow was dropping in the Seattle Metro area! We can count on the next storm to lay some impressive amounts to Utah/Colorado and Wyoming. Light snow will break out in the Tetons tonight (Moderate in the Tetons on Monday) and begin in the Wasatch around 10am on Monday. Heavy snow will really take hold by 3pm in the Wasatch and continue to dump into Tuesday (12-18 inches). Colorado will see EPIC conditions on Tuesday as morning reports will only get higher as the day goes on (perfect storm ski day). The Wasatch will be very deep by Tuesday morning. The Cold Trough wll be centered over Vail Pass on Tuesday by mid morning making 2-3 inch per hour snow bands possible. Snow will end Tuesday night in Utah however continue lightly in Colorado making perhaps Wednesday morning a good second choice. This has all of the ingredients of an epic light density snow event so get out and enjoy the POW. The next chance of snow might be next weekend? Powderchaser Steve
