Heavy Powder Watch!
Friday, 20 March 2009 07:21
I figured we can bring in an alert on the 1st day of Spring as the next storm appears to have good moisture and cold air to most likely warrant a Powder Warning by late in the weekend.

Cold air and moisture will begin in the Wasatch of Utah by Sunday evening and most likely bring the heaviest snowfall during the morning hours on Monday and continue into the evening. Colorado will see snow on Monday and Monday night bringing a chance of Tuesday being the best day?

The weather models are still unclear to the exact path of the storm so I have decided to issue a Watch at this point however there is a good chance that between 6-15 inches will fall by late Monday and early Tuesday.

one problem will be the warm slush layer underneath as it deep freezes Sunday night however very strong pre frontal winds on Saturday might help to smooth things out some. Winds will be gusting to 65 MPH on Saturday ahead of the storm.
