This is turning out to be another incredible week especially for the Wasatch and the Tetons! 30 inch storm totals bring Alta just 25 inches from making the 500 inch yearly average mark for this winter! Colorado saw between 6-12 inches in the past 48 hours (Steamboat at 17). Alta will hit the 500 inch mark by Friday. Warm air and light snow will break out again today in the Wasatch and turn moderate tonight as a cold front approaches from AK. The heaviest snow will hold off until 3am on Wednesday. Snow will start in Colorado after midnight tonight however not turn heavy until Wednesday mid morning and continue through 7pm. One issue again with this system will be strong winds! Look for possible lift issues on Wednesday AM. Keep reading as the weekend looks even better and super deep! We are in a typical mid winter flow with areas favored by NW flow getting the highest amounts (Steamboat, Vail, Beaver Creek, Alta, Snowbird) Tuesday- Light snow in the Wasatch with warm temps Tuesday Night- Light snow in Colorado and moderate snow in the Wasatch (4-8). Turning colder late Wednesday- Heavy snow in the Wasatch (6-10) and snow turning heavy in Colorado (5-9) ending late. Good storm ski day! snow showers will linger in Colorado Wednesday night. Thursday- Great day to ski what people could not see on Wednesday and newly opened runs Thursday Night- Snow starts up again in the Wasatch Friday-Saturday- Very heavy snow possible with between 15-25 inches likely by Saturday evening. Stay tuned! This should be epic for both Utah/Wyoming and Colorado. Next week? More snow possible on Tuesday. |
