Powder Forecast- Heavy Snow returns to the West
Update: November 15th 7am
The West coast is showing lots of activity in the next 10 days of which the first of a series of moist systems will move into the Northwest Cascades by Wednesday night bringing up to a foot of new snow above 5,000 feet by Thursday evening. Snow levels will remain high in the Cascades until late Thursday when a cold front lowers snow levels to just 500 feet! That could bring some snow to the hills just outside of Seattle! LIght density snow will best on Friday!
The cold front rapidly moves through the Northwest into the Sierra and Tetons by Friday morning and into the Wasatch by Friday evening. Heavy snow will break out in many areas along and behind the front making epic openings for many resorts that plan on season openings this weekend! The Northern Sierra, Tetons, Wasatch, and Colorado mountains will all get into the action.
Colorado will start to see snow in many mountain areas by late Friday night or early Saturday. Amounts at this point appear to be in the 7-14 inch range however as we get closer an update will be posted. Moisture increases again by Thanksgiving and continues into the following weekend!
