Dry density snow and colder temps are blessing the Northwest with an additional 8 inches at Crystal Mountain this morning in Washington and everything is just starting to move over Montana, Idaho, and eventually Wyoming by 12 Noon today.
The Rockies start to pick up snow by Thursday late morning with the heaviest falling across the Tetons Thursday 10AM to 3AM Friday (6-9) and the Wasatch by Midnight Thursday through Friday Morning (9-14 inches near Snowbasin and North, 7-11 Further South towards Alta). Colorado will see snow develop after midnight Thursday with Steamboat, Winter Park, Vail Valley, Aspen and Summit County on the favored path with a cold front that streams through from North to South. I would expect areas along the Divide to pick up 7-9 inches by late Friday. Friday morning will be the storm ski day there and my belief and chase would heavily favor Steamboat with the colder air and Westerly winds. Aspen and areas near I-70 will be in the 5-10 inch range by Friday evening. Southern Mountains will be in the 3-6 inch range as the cold front passes later Friday afternoon.
There will be a break in the action this weekend with another light to moderate event coming into the Rockies on Tuesday next week as well as the Pacific northwest which will continue to see moisture and colder temperatures.

Way to kill it again! That Jackson day skiing on 40″ of storm snow was one of my best of the season. Glad I ran into you that morning. Have a great summer, and maybe we can hit some singletrack when I’m down on the front range.
Just started snowing in Steamboat
and then it stopped
Snowing moderately to heavy in summit county, i’m heading back to the Boat and hope it gets north
Thanks. I see it on radar and on the web cams. I am actually thinking Copper might be a good bet?
Hm… I can’t seem to reply to your reply, but yeah you are right, copper is definitely the best bet, with super bee open at least. This storm seems to be acting strange. Would you mind emailing me links to the models you look at?
Or apparently i can reply to the reply, it doesn’t drop down below though
There is a stash of models that I have captured over the years however this one is very good for 48 hour predictions.

Oh the longed for trifecta, I hope it works!
I hope so! I think you still will see snow mainly Saturday night or Sunday however the I 70 corridor near Vail might see more? I can’t see the models from the road
On the chase to the Sierra and back to Snowbird Friday night
